AIR STRENGTH
BRITAIN LAGGING BEHIND. (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) (Rec. 11.35 p.m.) London, January 8. The Daily Mail says that Japan has allotted £4,370,000 for new military aircraft. The annual output of aeroplanes has risen from 300 to 1000. The United States has ordered 150 _ war planes immediately. Only Britain lags behind. The Government proposes to provide a meagre ten squadrons. The country must think in terms . of thousands of machines if Britain is to survive.
