MINERS’ WAGES
NATIONAL MACHINERY URGED.

The Miners’ Conference passed a resolution regretting that the Government had not brought pressure on the coal-owners to participate in a joint examination of the possibilities of the establishment of national machinery for wage regulation. The conference also protested against the Government's removal of the only effective safeguard against wage reductions while granting the owners’ request concerning working hours.
