OBSTETRIC HOSPITAL
DUNEDIN PROPOSAL. GOVERNMENT CONTRIBUTION SOUGHT. (Per United Press Association.) Wellington, October 26. A Government contribution towards the cost of erecting the new obstretrical hospital in Dunedin to serve both as a maternity centre and training ground for students, was advocated by a deputation of Otago and Dunedin Members of Parliament which waited upon the Ministers of Finance and Health tonight. The Hon. J. A. Young indicated that if the Dunedin Hospital Board would submit him its building financial proposals in detail, he would be prepared to give them careful consideration and decide whether it would be better to build the new hospital and close down the St. Helens Home and Batchelor Home.
