FALL FROM BRIDGE

MAN FATALLY INJURED. (Per United Press Association.) Auckland, September 26. Fatal injuries were received by a retired farmer, Allan John Ross, aged 64, as the result of a fall from an overhead bridge in Mount Eden early this morning. Ross, who was single, was sitting on the bridge rail when he lost his balance, falling heavily to a lawn near the railway line below. At the inquest, Sylvia Bradcock, aged 11, said she was standing outside her home and saw a man sitting on the rail of the bridge facing the road. He was rolling a cigarette when his hat was blown backward. The man turned around in an attempt to catch his hat but overbalanced, falling off the rail to the section below. Tire inquest was adjourned.
