THEFT FROM SHOP
YOUTH REMANDED. (Per United Press Association.) Palmerston North, May 10. Arising out of the incident yesterday, when a shopkeeper had pepper thrown in his eyes, a youth, Frank Francis O’Sullivan, pleaded guilty in the Magistrate’s Court to stealing £5 the property of William Wiseman, sen. Detective Quirke said the accused went to Wiseman’s shop to purchase goods and asked for change of a £5 note. On the shopkeeper getting the necessary amount the accused threw pepper in Wiseman’s face and grabbed the notes, dashing away. Later he was arrested. He had been convicted of theft in 1932. The Magistrate remanded the accused till Friday for the Probation Officer’s report.
