ACCIDENTS & FATALITIES

BOY CAUGHT IN SHAFT. (Per United Press Association ) Taumarunui, May 6. Last night a ten-year-old son of Edward Bradley, night watchman at Ellis and Burnard’s timber mill, Manunui, met with a fatal accident while taking his father’s tea to him in the works. The unfortunate boy was apparently passing an engine used for driving the dynamos of the electric lighting plant when his clothing caught in the shaft, which was rapidly revolving, turning him round with considerable force, causing injuries to his head. Death must have been instantaneous.
