TENNIS. (From Our Correspondent.) On Saturday afternoon a match was played between Wendonside and Lumsden on the local courts when Lumsden proved the winners. On Saturday evening the Guides met in the Oddfellows’ Hall, where the final meeting of the year was held. The president of the committee, Mrs James Campbell, presented the efficiency cup to the Swallow Patrol, congratulating them on the excellence of their work throughout the year. Commissioner Mrs Clouston thanked the lieutenants, R. Graham and Helen Clouston, for the capable manner in which they had performed their duties. Before closing the meeting R. Graham, on behalf of the Guides, presented Mrs Clouston with a handsome box of stationery as a small token of appreciation for the help that is always meted otit to the company. The company then proceeded to the Railway Reserve, where a camp fire had previously been set in the form of the trefoil. The fire was set alight by the three youngest Guides who in turn explained the meaning of the three parts of the badge, after which a most entertaining concert was given by the various members of the company, a feature being a mock wedding. Before supper was handed round a collection was taken up. The proceeds are to go towards the purchase of trees which will be planted in a reserve by the Guides. Boy Scouts-

On Sunday afternoon the Boy Scouts under the conductorship of Chief Rearson, of Gore, and V. White, Lumsden, held a high tea in the Oddfellows’ Hall, after which a Scout parade was held at the Presbyterian Church, where the Rev. Comber conducted a very inspiring service. On Tuesday afternoon a final gathering of Scouts was held when the boys were the guests of Miss Adamson, Castlerock, at afternoon tea The weather was ideal, the boys enjoying to the utmost the rambles of Castlerock estate and the wonderful hospitality of their hostess.
