WAIANIWA NOTES
P.W.M.U. MEETING. (From Our Correspondent.) The P.W.M.U. held their opening meeting in the church last Thursday week. Mrs Hodson presided over an attendance of 23 ladies. A. Missionary letter from Mrs Gray of India, telling of the industrial work in the Punjab, proved very interesting. It was agreed to join with other country branches in providing afternoon tea at the next P.A. meeting in Invercargill, when the delegates from Conference, would be giving their report. Last Tuesday evening the members of the Waianawa Sports Club, held another of their popular dances in the hall. There was a large attendance of dancing enthusiasts present. Popular and latest, music was featured by the Ambassadors Dance Band. Extras were supplied by Mrs D. Galt and Messrs Henry and Toole. Mr D. King made an efficient M.C. Amongst those present were: —Mr and Mrs J. Young, Mr and Mrs J. Nunn, Mr and Mrs D. Galt (Wellington) ; Mesdames Henderson, Hogan, King, Toole, Fotheringham and Ogilvy; Misses Atkinson (2), King (2), Jewitt (2), Anderson, Young, Thomas, Wilson, Forrest, McMahon, Smith, Whitelaw (2), McDowall, Pink, Galt, Hill, Clark, Burley, Ronald, Hope, Bryon, Hunter, Thompson (3), Bissett (3), Waldron (3), Santsberry, Murray, Muir, Flynn, Pirie, Von Tunzlemun, Sutherland, Collins, McKenzie, Scott, Cowie; Messrs Galt, Walker, Bunton, Byars, King (3), Buxton, McNeil (2), McNaughton, Baxter, McLean, Kennedy (2), Philips, Robertson, Miller, Price (2), Hunter (2), Lindsay, Steans, Meredith, Moylan (2), Whitelaw, Pay, Blue, Grieve (2), Donald (2), JcSperson, Ronald, McDonald, Atkinson, Kidd, Abum, Batey, Munro, Thompson, Fairburn, Challis, Rizzi, Hanley, McKillop, Ferguson, McLean, Edwards, Gibb, Ballantyne, Toole, Taylor, Bryan (2), Cartwright, Jackson and many others. The many friends of Mr and Mrs Hodson, will be pleased to learn that their son Gordon, has made a wonderful recovery from his recent accident, from which he had a lucky escape.
