PRICE OF BREAD REDUCED. (From Our Correspondent.) From Monday last the price of the 41b loaf was reduced to lOd by Winton retailers. Tennis. On Tuesday evening a team representing the Tussock Creek Club journeyed to Winton and played a friendly game with a Winton B team. The results of the games completed were‘as follows, with the names of the Winton players appearing first: Ladies’ Singles: Miss H. Cowie v. Miss George 4-6, Miss M. Tilley v. Mrs Fairbanks 6-5.
Men’s Singles: D. Hogg v. D. Bruce 2-6; R. Goodall v/J. Clark 3-5; J. Raymond v. C. George 3-6; J. Perrelle v. L. George 3-6. . Ladies’ Doubles; Misses Manson find H. Cowie v. Misses Fairbanks and George 6-4, Misses Young and M. Tilley v. Mesdames Webb and Fairbanks 6-1. Men’s Doubles: Hogg and Goodall v. Bruce and Clark 3-6; Raymond and perrelle v. George and George 3-6. Combined Doubles: Miss H. Cowie and Goodall v. Miss George and Clark 5-6; Miss Young and Raymond v. Mrs Webb and C. George 6-5; Miss M. Tilley and perrelle v. Mrs Fairbanks and L. George 6-3.
