DARTMOOR MUTINY
CHARGES AGAINST CONVICTS. (United Press Assn.—By Telegraph—Copyright., (Rec. 5.5 p.m.) London, March 8. Thirty-two Dartmoor convicts to-day paraded under a strong guard before Superintendent Smith and were formally charged with offences arising out of the mutiny in January under the Malicious Damage Act. Some charges were collective, others were individual. The formal hearing will take place to-morrow before a magistrate at the prison, when’ they will be remanded to appear on March 26 at the Town Hall, Princetown, where convicts are constructing a large dock to accommodate the accused. Chairs and benches arc being bolted to the floor as a precaution against, a possible outbreak of violence. The accused are still in solitary confinement except for daily exercise.
