GOVERNMENT LOANS
APPLICATIONS CONSIDERED

Wellington, December 16.
A meeting of the Local Government Loans Board dealt with 46 applications for loans totalling £476,849. Loans amounting to £382,800 were sanctioned, including £331,375 renewals, £18,550 new loans, £11,300 loans for restoration of earthquake damage and £21,575 for unemployment. The sum of £10,475, unexpended balances of previous loans, was authorized to be used for other purposes. The balance, £83,574, of amount submitted to the meeting was either declined or referred back to the local authority concerned for further consideration.
