VALUABLE GRASSLANDS NEW SOUTH WALES BUSH FIRES HOW THREE MEN ESCAPED (United Press Assn. —By Telegraph—Copyright.) (Rec. 9.35 p.m.) Sydney, December 16. Over 200 men who have been fighting the bush fires for the last six days had their first respite to-day when the flames on three sections were under control. Scarcely had they returned to the towns, however, when a fresh outbreak occurred 100 miles from Cobar. A detachment immediately left, by lorry. Three men escaped at Innesowen by rushing into a sheepyard and dragging a tarpaulin over themselves while the flames swept over them. 'Thousands of acres of valuable grass country are reduced to a charred mass of grass tufts and smouldering trees and feuccs.
