REDUCTIONS GRANTED
CAN TER BUR Y RUNHOLDERS. APPEAL AGAINST VALUATIONS. (Per United Press Association.) Christchurch, December 9. The Assessment Court gave judgment today in three cases of objections raised by North Canterbury runholders against the Government valuations of their properties. In each judgment substantial reductions were made, the total reduction being £12,020. The following arc the comparisons:— Property of Lowry Peaks, owned by Mr George Ranald Macdonald: Old valuation, capital £41,255, unimproved valuation £31,500, improvements £9755; new valuation, £33,000, £23,000, £10,000; owner's own valuation, £30,840, £19,280, £11,560. Property Mount Cass owned by Mr D. W. J. Gould: Old valuation, £14,230, £9710, £4520; new valuation, £12,250, £7730, £4520; owner’s valuation, £10,440, £5040, £5400.
Property of 1,392 acres owned by Mt D’Arcy Carrington Gardiner; Old valuation, £13,285, £9,270, £4,015; new valuations, £11,500, £7485, £4015; owner’s valuation, £11,250, £6,250, £5,000.
