“SCANDALOUS!”

MINISTER OF EDUCATION CRITICIZED. ALLEGED INFERENCE REGARDING HOSTEL GRANT. (Per United Press Association.) Hamilton, September 22. Strong condemnation of the Ministers inference that the Governmnet grant for the new boys’ hostel might be devoted to another purpose, was voiced by Mr A. L. Tompkins at the annual reunion dinner of the Hamilton High School Old Boys’ Association to-day. ‘‘The position is scandalous and savours of repudiation of the contracts of the Government,” he said. “It is unworthy of the Minister to put us in the position of still having to sbek a favour,” added Mr Tompkins. “In fact, it is high time an indignant protest was registered against this dillydallying on the part of politicians. We cannot but think that .we are being made victims of political wire-pulling which should not exist in any system of education. ’
