LADIES’ HOCKEY

EASTERN SOUTHLAND ASSOCIATION. FIXTURES FOR PRESENT SEASON. A special meeting of the Eastern Southland Ladies’ Hockey Association was held at the Gore High School on Thursday evening, Mr. H. Halliday presiding in the absence of the president (Mr. G. C. Hamilton) over the following delegates: Misses. V. Nichol, E. Smith, M. Maley, D. Hayes, R. Naylor and Mr. Darracott. Misses Udy and Steinmetz were granted transfers from the Wyndham to the Mimihau Club and granted permission to play B grade. The colours of the latter club, green and black, as requested, were also granted. The West Otago Sub-Union was granted affiliation with the association. It was decided to have no matches on June 4 on account of the seven-a-side tournament the previous day. The first Thursday of each month was fixed as meeting day. The following fixtures were drawn up for the ensuing season, matches to be played on the ground of the team last named:— A GRADE. First Round. First Week: Hokonui v. Mataura; ExHigh v. Gore High; Edendalc a bye. Second Week: Hokonui v. Ex-High; Mataura v. Edendale; Gore High a bye. Third Week: Hokonui v. Gore. High; Edendale v. Ex-High; Mataura a bye. Fourth Week: Hokonui v. Edendale; Gore High v. Mataura; Ex-High a bye. Fifth Week: Mataura v. Ex-High; Gore v. Edendale; Hokonui a bye. Second Round. Sixth Week: Mataura v. Hokonui; Gore High v. Ex-High; Edendale a bye. Seventh Week: Ex-High v. Hokonui; Edendale v. Mataura; Gore High a bye. B GRADE. First Week: Gore High v. Pukerau; Mataura 11. v. Wyndham High; Wyndham v. Hokonui; Mataura I. v. Mimihau.
