A SMART CAPTURE
THREE MEN ARRESTED. CONSTABLE PURSUES ALLEGED BURGLARS. (Per United Press Association.) Auckland, February 4. While three men were playing electric torches oil the back door of a New Lynn grocery shop near midnight the police received .a telephone call and within half an hour three young men were arrested on charges of breaking and entering with intent to commit a crime. This morning the doors of four shops show marks indicating that attempts had been made to force them open' with jemmies or screwdrivers. When Constable Boag received the call he set off in a motor car with his twenty-year-old son at the wheel. On reaching the Main street the men were working on a greengrocer’s shop. They scattered but Boag leaped off the car and after arresting one man bundled him off into the car and doubled back to pick up the other two men. At the Police Court to-day. Archie Robert Windsor, a labourer (23), Anthony Howley, a bootmaker (20), and Henry James Boyd, a labourer (24) were remanded till February 10.
