PLUMBER THROWS CAP AT MAGISTRATE. (Per United Press Association.) Auckland, October 13. Henry Charles Andow, aged 50, caused a scene in the Police Court when he appeared on a charge of vagrancy. He was described as “a subject for the halfway house.” During the proceedings he used filthy language to the Salvation ATmy captain and Mr Hunt, S.M. Accused, who is a first-class plumber, said that he would take work if he could get it and was let off with an order to come up for sentence. Andow began to leave the dock, but turned and yelled: “Get the doctor, you lot of . Do what you like with me.” He threw his cap at the Magistrate, but it struck the sub-inspector. Three months’ imprisonment was ordered by Mr Hunt, who added there was no doubt that Andow was not normal.
