CAPE TO CAIRO
FIRST STAGE OF LONG WALK. Cape Town, October 11. Cook and Manson completed the first 1000 miles of their walk to Cairo to-day in 33 days, beating the record by five days. The country was sun-baked and made walking hard. They had wonderful receptions along the route.—Australian Press Association.
