ENFORCEMENT DIFFICULT. (Rec. 7.5 p.m.) London, June 28. In the House of Commons in the course of the Budget discussion Mr Churchill admitted that the betting tax could not be worked smoothly and the result was disappointing. Evasion was widespread. He prophesied the early adoption of the totalisator when it might be possible to reconsider the betting tax.
