THE PROPOSED MERGER. INTEREST IN CANADA. Ottawa, June 27. Canada is vitally interested in and affected by the proposed merger of the beam | wireless system and Eastern Cable ComI pany and various other communications ' within the Empire. According to the Postmaster-General, the Hon. Peter J. Veniot, the service supervised and controlled by the Pacific Cable Board is certainly affected. Canada’s approval of the merger is dependent on the insertion in the merger agreement of certain conditions governing rates for service by wireless and cable lines. Complete Governmental control of all cable and radio services in case of war is also important.
