BISHOPS’ POSITION QUESTIONED. (Rec. 7.35 p.m.) London, June 25. Replying to Mr E. Thurtle’s (Labour) question in the House of Commons, Mr Baldwin said he was not in a position to make a statement regarding the removal of the Lords Spiritual from the House of Lords. Mr Thurtle remarked: “Do not recent events show no confidence in the Bishops?” (Cries of “order.”) —Australian Press Association—United Service.
