NATIONAL RESERVE

DISPOSAL OF FUNDS. QUESTION CONSIDERED. Since 1919 the National Reserve Fund Committee has been practically unheard of. By many the activities of this body during the Great War will be remembered. Yesterday afternoon a meeting was called, Mr Walter Henderson presiding over a fair attendance of members. The chairman, after recalling the various beneficiary works that had been performed by the committee for the departing soldiers during the war period, stated that the funds on hand amounted to £42 15/- and it was time he thought that something should be done by way of disposal. Mr . W. A. Saunders said that after making inquiries he understood on good authority that the War Funds Act stated that a fund or an accumulation of money collected during the war period to assist the soldiers in any way had. to be handed over to the War Funds Association for disposal. In view of this a sub-committee consisting of Messrs W. Henderson and W. A. Saunders was appointed to approach the War Funds Association on the matter, the desire being freely expressed that the funds should eventually be handed over to the Sixpenny Clothing Club or some such deserving body.
