FATALLY INJURED. (Per United Press Association.) Waihi, April 6. John Jurney, an old resident of Waihi, employed by the Public Works Department at Tuapiro, died at the Waihi Hospital •last night as the result of severe wounds to his neck occasioned by the breaking of a winch handle on the railway construction works. ACCIDENTALLY KILLED. Otaki, Apr. 6. A verdict of accidentally killed was returned on Nita Blanch Cundy, who as the result of a motor accident, was killed. The car capsized over a bank at Waikanae. MELBOURNE MAN’S DEATH. Christchurch. April 5. The inquest was opened to-day on Edgar Clarke, described as an auctioneer and councillor of St. Kilda, Melbourne, who was found on the river bank on Saturday with his wrist deeply cut. Deceased arrived in Christchurch on March 26 and remained in bed at a hotel for four days on account of illness. Witnesses described him as a bundle of nerves. Clarke was admitted to hospital but collapsed before an operation could be performed. The inquest was adjourned sine die.
