LAKE COLERIDGE

NEW HYDRO-ELECTRIC PLANT. (Special to the Times.) Wellington, April 6. At the end of June or early in July the first of the two new units at the Lake Coleridge hydro-electric station should be ready to operate. Each unit will be of 10,000 horsepower and the second one will be ready not long after the first. It is expected that this additional power will be fully taken up ih from four to five years’ time. Right at the beginning an overload will be lifted as the present Lake Coleridge plant, designed for 12.000 kilowatts, is carying a peak load of 14,200 kilowatts.
