LOCHIEL PICNIC
A SUCCESSFUL GATHERING. The annual picnic at Lochiel took place on the school glebe on Wednesday. The weather conditions were somewhat unpleasant, but the hedges and trees surrounding provided a good shelter from the high winds prevailing. There was a large gathering of both old and young, and all thoroughly enjoyed the outing. A strong and -energetic committee successfully carried out the sports, which included events for adults and children, and also provided tea, milk and sugar. Following were the results of the sports: Youths’ Race (under (17) ; J. Stewart 1, D. Cameron 2. Young Ladies’ Race (under 17) : Miss Butts 1, Muss Murray 2, Miss Kerr 3. High Leap: G. Young Ladies' Race: Miss M. Scatter 1, Miss A. Scatter 2, Miss M. McConachie 3. Stepping (ladies), distance 21 yards Ift 7ins: C. Thomson and M. McConachie 1 (equal). , Long Jump: G.
