MOTORIST SENT TO GAOL
DRUNK IN CHARGE OF CAR. CHRISTCHURCH, January 21. Lionel Charles Burke, aged 42, pleaded guilty the morning to charges of being drunk while in' charge of a motor car, resisting a constable, and also using obscene language. The case arose out of an accident yesterday, when Burke knocked down a girl cyclist. Accused, a commercial traveller and married, was sentenced to seven days’ imprisonment.
