DEFEAT OF GOVERNMENT. SIR GEORGE FULLER’S RESIGNATION WANTED. (By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright.) (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) SYDNEY, November 17. (Received November 17, 5.5 p.m.) Sections of the Press assert that Sir George Fuller should send in his resignation rather than submit to intermittent reverses and rebuffs from the Country Party. Political opinion is hardening in the direction that a way out will be found on Tuesday by the Government again submitting the local Government estimates giving satisfactory assurances respecting farmers’ appraisements by the Valuer-General. Following the defeat of the Government a Party split occurred, several members contending that they were badly led. They are agitating for a change of leadership, stating that, had Sir George Fuller used a little tact, the crisis would not have- occurred. I On Friday the Government was defeated in the Assembly for the third time this session by one vote on a formal motion on the Local Government Estimates. 'The Ministry is now unable to carry on unless the House reverses the vote. The Premier (Sir George Fuller), stated that he fully realised the serious nature of the position and would give the House a chance of affirming its vote on Tuesday, until which date the House adjourned. The position arose through one Nationalist voting with the Opposition, a number of others being absent from the Chamber. ]
