TO FIGHT RUM-RUNNERS
PRESIDENT APPROVES OF EXPENDITURE. (By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright.) (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) WASHINGTON, November 17. (Received. November 18, 5.5 p.m.) President Coolidge approves of the Treasury’s plans for an expansion of the coastguard for the prevention of rum smuggling. The expenditure contemplated is 20,000,000 dollars for new craft and additional personnel.
