NEW SOUTH WALES MINERS. SOUTHERN OWNERS’ DECISION. (By Telegraph -Press Assn.—Copyright). (Australian and N.Z. Cable v SYDNEY, October 7. At a special meeting of the Southern coal owners it was decided that the miners must give a guarantee that the Wednesday strike each week will be declared off before the pits wi’l be opened. Replying to the miners’ request for electric safety lamps, the owners said the latter were only in the CsXperimental stage, and much expenditure would be entailed in repairs. At the same time they were desirous of improving the existing system. IRON MOULDERS’ STRIKE. TROUBLE AT SYDNEY. SYDNEY, October 7. The moulders at the Alexandra Stove Works have struck in consequence of the management reducing wages by 4/- a week.
