General Trenchard, chief of the air staff, in a memorandum outlines the future of the Royal Air Force and Mr Churchill states that Cabinet has approved of the proposals. The principal expenditure in the force in the next few years is provisionally fixed at £15,000,000 ' yearly. The scheme divides the force into three sections, namely, an independent, a naval and a military force. Eventually it will consist of twenty-eight squadrons, eight in India, three in Mesopotamia, eight in Egypt, four on home service, seven with the fleet. An air force reserve will be created on a territorial basis. The airship fleet for the present will not exceed one rigid and two non-rigid craft. AERIAL DERBY ROUND THE WORLD. TOKIO, December 14. The American Commission for the Aerial Derby round the world is consulting the Japanese authorities concerning the flight preparations. It is announced that each country will be permitted to make rulings governing the flight across its territories. SUSPENSION OF PASSENGER FLYING. LONDON, December 14. The Avro’ Company has decided to suspend passenger flying during the winter owing to insufficient demand.
