Officer commanding our Forces in Palestine, when asked of the rum issue impaired our soldiers’ efficiency and morale replied ; “When men were tired and run down during the Palestine campaign, I found the issue of a pint of beer per man greatly appreciated and did much good.” (Signed) W.
