Received August 9, 5.15 p.m. The Admiralty has issued the following return in connection with the submarine blockade for the week ended Bth: — Arrivals 26/3 Sailings 2796 Sinkings— Over 1600 tons 21 Under 1600 tons 2 Unsuccessfully attacked .. 13 Fishing boats sunk .... The figures for the previous week and the aggregates of the past twenty-three weeks are as follow; — Last week. 23 weeks. Arrivals .. .. 2747 59,503 Sailings .. .. 2776 59,701 Sinkings— Over 1600 tons 18 558 Under 1600 tons 3 249 Unsuccessfully attacked .... 9 408 Fishing boats sunk THE WEEKLY LOSSES. The following table shows the arrivals and departures at British ports for each week since the beginning of the campaign of unrestricted ruthlessneas, the losses of ships over and under 1600 tons, and the number of vessels unsuccessfully attacked. The record of losses shows the number of ships only and gives no indication of the amount of tonnage destroyed.
