AUSTRALIAN STRIKES
IMPROVED TRAM AND TRAIN SERVICES. COUNTRY POLICE BROUGHT TO THE CITY. (By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright.) (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) SYDNEY, August 8. Further improved train and tram services to-day are largely coping with the rush of workers towards the city. With better manned staffs business is brisker. The extent of sympathy with the strikers will be unknown till towards the end of the week. Heavy drafts of country police have been brought to the city.
