RETURNED SOLDIERS

THE ARAWA’S VOYAGE. Dr Marshall Macdonald, of Dunedin, who for the past year occupied the position of medicln-major with the French forces, returned by the Arawa as medical officer. He reported that the health of the officers and men throughout the voyage was excellent. There is only one cot case, that of a Niue Islander, who is suffering- from tuberculosis. Shortly after the commencement of the voyage one man contracted measles, but the disease did not spread. Tile route taken by the Arawa was via Capetown and Hobart, At each place the returning men were treated very hospitably. The officers who returned by the Arawa are Major P. B. Henderson, Major M. MacDonell, Lieut. Promm (in charge of the Niue Islanders), Medicin-major Marshall Macdonald, Staff Sergeantsmajor W. A. Stedman, H. Wray, C. Dalby, Sergeants-major F. Holmes, V. Marshall, Quartermaster-sergeants M. Copping, Westbrook, Sergeants .1. A. England (Invercargill), and W. Woods, Sisters S. Macdonald, Taylor, and Woods (returned as nurses to invalided men).
