THE EUKOWDtA CAMPAIGN. EFFECT OH ROUMANIAN SITUATION. RECENT IMPORTANT ADVANCE. AUSTRIAN POSITION MAT BECOME UNTENABLE. (By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright) LONDON, February 10. Received February 10, 11.25 p.m. Newspapers, in view' of the German pressure on Roumanla, give prominence to the Russian capture of Uscleczko, crossing to the west bank of the Dniester. Tlie Russians have been for a considerable time near this village, which Is forty miles north of Czernowitz,, and frequently attacked the bridgehead on the north-east bank In vain. The Morning Post’s military correspondent states that Russia’s possession of tlie Dneistcr makes the Austrian position in Bukowina untenable. The correspondent adds that the valley of the Pruth, owing to the absence of natural obstacles, offers the best line of advance. If the Russians break through Bukowina the Austro-Germati defences in Galicia will be outflanked and will probably be abandoned.
