The star suhejet. ’‘Where the Road Forks.” is an excellent drama, replete with incidents which are calculated to arouse the interest of patrons. The supporting films can also be recommended. and there should be another large audience to vFw its final screening: to-night. THE THREE JirSKETEEKM. As anlicipaled crowded houses have been in attendance at the byreum to witness the screening of "The Throe Musketeers" —a picture which has the name of being one. of the greatest ever produced. The story is one of absorbing interest and contains many exciting events, such -as -arc rarely seen in photoplays. ’(ln' litm. which occupies the whole of the evening, will make its final Invercargill appearance to-night, when another full house should ho in attendance. Gilmore, of Invercargill, with a select company of Invercargill's musical entertainers, assisted by some of our best local talent. A varied ami lengthy programme was gon- through, consisting of songs, recitations, duet am reading, every item of which was well received, meeting with much applause, and many recalls had to he made. The Southland Pipe Band played selections outside the hall and a-Irc on the stage. The hall was packed with a very appreciative audience. and at the close, on the call of the Rev. J. sh Voting, who acted as chairman. a very hearty vote of thanks was given to Mr .1. T>. Gilmore and "parly for the evening's entertainment. QUEEN OF OARNTVAT., The interior of the Municipal Theatre presented a very bust- appearance last evening, when final arrangements were carried out for the opening of the Fete of Nations and Queen Carnival. On the ground floor all the, seats have been removed and the stalls have been artistically arranged in the background, presenting- a very taking sight and decorated most effectively in the clubs colours. r Phe seating accommodation in the dress circle and gallery will be left intact and will he a* the rlisposal of the public throughout the season. The carnival will be opened officially by bis Worship the Mayor. Mr D. McFaxlane, at seven-thirty p.m., after which the programme as advertised will be carried out in its entirety. As proviously announeed seats will be reserved in the dress circle for the opening night, and we are asked to announce that holders of the-se will he given permission to pass to the ground floor in order to view the stalls and thereafter return to their seats ’ which will be held for them. At a dress rehearsal with full stage effects everv item was gone through without a bitch, and the public will have the pleasure of witnessing a lirst-class performance of the most spectacular displays never previously given in Southland. Poors will be opened at six-forty-five this evening, and those who have not taken advantage of the reserved seals will require to be in attendance eat'. y.
