DAMAGES FOR HUSBAND’S DEATH. DISALLOWED BY THE COURT. (Per United Press Association.) NEW PLYMOUTH, July 7. Mr Justice Stringer delivered judgment to-day in the case in which the widow of Francis Smith, a_victim of the Kaimata tragedy, sued his employers, the New Zealand Express Company, for compensation for his death when engaged on behalf of the Company. The judge held that death was not directly due to any special risk arising out of the nature of his employment, and gave judgment for defendant, with costs.
