These show that the expansion of the world's wheat acreage in 1910-11 received a severe check. In 1912 the British Empire declined 2.257,000 acres, Europe 2,024,000 acres (chiefly Russia), while the United States lost 9.729,000. In live stock returns Australasia’s reduction of 9,348,000 animals is the largest noted. The decline in European stocks is very marked.
