WALLACE A. & P. ASSOCIATION
ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Wallace A. and P. Association was held in Otautau last evening. There were about 60 members r present, and the President, Mr Jas Ryan, occupied the chair. In moving the adoption of the report and balance-sheet, which have already been published, the Chairman referred to the sound financial position the Association was'now in. a credit balance at> the-bank of £43 5s 6d,. and the whole of the property was free’’of debt. Although they were in funds, however, there was no need for them to sit down satisfied, as there was still much to achieve. He advocated a canvass in order to increase the membership. At present they had 225 members and he thought that with a district like Wallace there was no reason why the roll should not reach 100. He also urged owners of stock to come forward more freely with exhibits. The stock in the district was of the very best, and there was plenty of it. He thanked members for the courtesy shown him during his term of office. Mr W. J. A. McGregor seconded the motion. He said the success gained by the Association during the year was largely due to the untiring efforts of the president. The motion was carried unanimously. The election of officers resulted as follows : —President, Mr W. J. A. McGregor ; ’ vice-president, Mr John Lindsay ; auditor, Mr W, Saunders ; secretary and treasurer, Mr John Fisher ; committee. Messrs W. Buick, R. H. Biseett, Jno. Garrick, H. E. Dahlenbcrg, F. Malcolm, J. Macdonald (Strathvale), and M. O’Brien.
