A TEMPERANCE LIBEL
JUDGE’S COMMENT. (By Telegraph.— Pwa* Association.— Copyright) SYDNEY. March 15. Received March 15, 9.15 p.m. Mrs Barton, temperance lecturer, has obtained a verdict for £5 for libel against “Fairplay” newspaper, which stated that she had given a woman brandy. Crossexamined she stated that she would not give a dying child brandy even if so instructed by a doctor. Mr Justice Pring declared that she would be guilty of manslaughter.
