« — Messrs J. A. Mitchell and Co. report ns follows :— At Wyndham on Thursday we lield our monthly sale and had 25 horses forward, a fair proportion being draughts of a uso' ful description. For theso there was good enquiry, about; half of the entry (•hanging hands at prices cjuite equal to those lately ruling, especially so for horses suitable for binder work. A handsome 3-year-old gelding brought £48, two inaros £37 each, 1 do, £38, others £25 to £35 10s ; wged to £12 ; one activo spring carter £2*6 ; hacks, best sorts up to £20. Aged weedy sorts are hard to quit. We held our monthly sale at Winton on : Friday and had an entry of 26 horses— n varied assortment. The market was a good one and nearly) all the horses forward found now, owners at satisfactory rates. Wo sold draughts at £42, £39, £38, £20 ; mares, with foals, £37 each ; hacks and light harness horses, £23, £2i, £16 10s aaid £5 15s. On Saturday in the Prince of Wales yards we had an entry' of forty-five horses, a num.b,er being useful draughts, although there was nothing specially good forward. For the best of the draughts, although they were mostly aged, by auction and privately afterwards, wo disposed of a; fair proportion at prices Quite equal to sale rate 9, viz., draughts at £38 to £rl4 10a ,< useful sorts, £25 to £35, old and stilT to £7. Hacks and light harness horses were fairly well represented as regards numbers but, with few exceptions, they were only a> medium lot. Best brought £15 to £20, others £9 ti> £13, light and old to £4.
