Dr. Cliurton, Bishop of Nassau, was accidently drowned at^liah&nias. An English motor-car at Canno (France) collided, and three occupants were thrown twenty yards. Mr Rathbox-n, an American, was killed ; another lady's ann, leg, and collarbone were broken, and three men wero badly injured. Highly successful experiments have been made at tho Alhambi*a in London with Mr Moul's process 1 of fireproofing scenery and stag© paraphernalia. There is great excitement in the Liverpool cotton market. American cotton rose to 8.40, and there is a similar advance in New York. The city of Wellington is issuing a £330,000 loan, bearing interest of 4 per cent, at £96. It has been underwritten.
