Wedding in Stewart Island

The happy couple were married in the ICvaugelistic church by the Rev. Mr Waters, and thereafter the party adjourned to the house of the bride'sfather for afternoon tea. In the evening the parents of the bridegroom gave an entertainment at their neaidence The invitations were many, and they H'i'iv evidently well responded to. Mr and Mrs Hanson are so justly beloved by ajl the. residents that atl who \v e re invited were eager to join with them in the lpjoicinps connected with their son's marriage. A hundred and fifty sat down' to tea. The dining room of Oban Houso was tastefully decorated, for keen eyes and doft hunda had selected some of the finest ferns and arranged them with skill. A moat enjoyable evening was spent by nil. The old school and the new were both reqiiistioned for dancers, who entered with spirit into the pastime. In side rooms friendly groups aMscm'hted. same sSffigingi some talking, some smoking, but all enjoying themselves ;,o their heart's content. Mr and Mrs Hanson were untiring in their efforts to male everybody happy, and in this they were most ably assisted by their family, the. young folks of Oban House, showing tact as well as unflaP?i"g' '-i'" l in arranging the intercourse of their guests, so that nil might enjoy themselves. The function will long be remonil>er«d in Stywart Island, and all w,ip took part in it will continue to wish happiness and prosperity to the Ilauseii family, ns well us to tho young couple whose union was the occasion oi >o much hearty enjoyment.
