SOUTHLAND RIFLE ASSOCIATION.

The annual gathering takes place at the Grasmere Ranges on the 26th inst., and all arrangements therefor are practically completed, and it only remains for the competitors to attend in sufficient numbers to ensure a successful meeting. Teams entries close on 16th inst. (to-day) and there are appearances of a good entry. It would be a great boon to the management if country competitors would endeavour to be in town the previous evening, as the afternoon north train is not delayed on 26th inst. Of course there are some who cannot conveniently do so, but there are others who might stretch a point and so prevent the usual rush from the range in the afternoon, as well as save delay in the forenoon.
