DISTRESSING CASE.

AN UNFORTUNATE LADY.

Recent investigations by a member of onr staff show that cases of genuine distress are now being reported from all quarters. In many instances relief has been granted and much suffering obviated, but there is still a great deal to be done in the matter. A particularly distressing case is reported from the North Island at Featherston, a Miss Petrea Peterson being the victim. Miss Peterson, when interviewed, said : ‘ I have been particularly unfortunate during the last four years, and have been so bad as to be hardly able to perform my work.
