THIS DAY. Bank Defalcations. (Received May 16, 1883, 12,5 p.m ] Melbourne, May 16. It is reported that , heavy defalcations have been discovered in a Bans at Sandhurst, and that the manager is implicated. Postal Union. The Argus " to-day expresses a hope that the New Zealand Government will re-consider its refusal to join the postal union, and announces that Mr Berry has undertaken to proceed to Wellington with a view of explaining fully, to Government the advantages of the union.
