FATAL ACCIDENTS.

Per Press Association. Auckland, March 16 Jeremiah Patrick Jones, when cycling, touched a horse driven in a trap by H. Stephens. The bicycle became entangled with the harness and the horse fell on Jones, who was picked up unconscious and died in hospital from a fractured skull. He was a labourer, married, with two children. Taihape, March 16 A Maori named Whangi Te Koora, aged about 60, belonging to Kaketapauma Pah, was accidentally killed yesterday by being thrown from a buggy while on his way to Hilntahi to catch a train. A young Maori was driving the vehicle at the time of the accident, which was caused by a bolt becoming dislodged, and allowing the shafts to drop. The young Maori was thrown out and escaped injury, but the horse continued to drag the baggy till it overturned further down the road. Te Koora was thrown out and badly injured about the head and died while being conveyed to the pah. At the inquest the verdict was that deceased was accidentally killed.
