RATA NOTES.

From Onr Own Correspondent. The public meeting here on Tuesday 21st, to discuss matters connected with the local Coronation Hall was well attended. Mr A. Simpson who presided explained reasons for calling meeting, also Rangitiker County Council’s by-Laws in respect to Hall. The matter of electing a—new committee was discussed, and it was decided to elect a committee of seven (subject, to the approval of the County Council), and after a ballot the follow lag' were elected: — The chairman, Cr Simpson, Messrs P. Nisbet, C. H. E. Rhodes, S. Rhodes, G. Harvey, W. Meads and A. Terry. The financial statem nt showed a debt of £35 owim ‘i pis no. This amount and a fu £3O towards improvements was jscribed at the meeting. The meting . concluded with a hearty vote of thanks to Or. Simpson, and Mr Mair for their kindness in attending, At a meeting of the committee later Mr C. H. E. Rhodes was elected chairman and Mr P. Rhodes Hon Secretary. The secretary was instructed to have subscription list typed, andjt was decided to canvass for further subscriptions towards Hall Improvement fund.
