BIG GOLD BOBBERY.

United Press Association. —By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. London, November 27. Details of the sensational gold robbery show that after the lids had been secured with iron hands and sealed, the gold was taken in vans to the Saint Katherine’s Dock, and placed aboard the steamer for Bremen.

Between Bremen and Trieste there Were four changes of trains. When the boxes were received at Alexandria the contents of two of the cases rattled. Lloyd’s agent was called in and opened them. Then it was found that lead of exactly equivalent weight to that of the gold had been substituted. The police believe the theft occurred between Bremen and Trieste when in charge of the German postal authorities. The frequent changes of railway guards facilitated the theft. The loss falls upon Lloyds.
