WIRELESS TELEGRAPHY.

OPENING OF TINAKORI HILLS STATION. Per Press Association. Wellington, October 14. The Governor to-day opened the new wireless station on Tiuakon Hills. He traced the development of the system and stressed its great future. He said that undoubtedly the chief subject of research would be in regard to the problem of controlling the direction of messages by which they would be immune from outside interference. The new station was another link in the chain binding Australia closer to New Zealand, and both, Imperially speaking, to the Motherland. The Postmaster-General,, in - giving a number of details, said the station would be open continuously. It had a minimumjrange of 300 miles at day and GOO miles at night. It had already, however, communicated with “Melbourne, Sydney, ■ Hobart and Suva.
